The Challenge

Replace 36 legacy SAN directors with 12 new directors, coordinate the connectivity and protect business continuity throughout the transition.

The infrastructure team needed a controlled sequence that preserved redundancy while introducing new capacity.

The Coordinated Approach

  1. Validate the architecture and connection requirements.
  2. Prepare tested, labeled and documented assemblies.
  3. Migrate Fabric A, followed by Fabric B, in separate maintenance windows.
  4. Decommission legacy cabling and racks after the migration.
